Building A Kinder LUHFT

LUHFT is on a mission to build a kinder, more compassionate place to work, a place we can all be proud of.

This is because evidence tells us that kindness in healthcare is beneficial for our staff, our patients, and the communities we serve. Kindness is also a contributing factor to happier, more positive working environments, better and more effective teams, and motivated, engaged staff. 

LUHFT has been working in partnership with A Kind Life, to help build a framework which outlines the values and behaviours we wish to see in our organisation. We have been asking colleagues what makes a good day at work to identify the behaviours that are present when those good days occur as well as the opposite, what are the behaviours present in bad days and how can we avoid them.

The framework will be available as of January 2024. Embedding the framework into the LUHFT employee Lifecycle and ensuring that it is sustainable, will be another key element building a kinder organisation and work is underway to consider how we can incorporate a values-led approach into everything from attraction, recruitment and retention through to the way we learn and develop in the organisation.
