Freedom To Speak Up

The safety of patients and staff remains the Trust’s number one priority.  

In order to ensure that we achieve this, we need everyone to:

• SPEAK UP: When you notice a safety issue raise the concern with the right person as soon as possible, this can be your Line Manager, a Freedom to Speak up Champion or the Freedom to Speak up Guardian.
• LISTEN UP: A line manager or FTSU Champion/ Guardian will listen to your concerns and respond by thanking you for speaking up and raising the concern
• FOLLOW UP: Your line manager or the FTSU Champion/ Guardian will then discuss a plan with you about how they can help you resolve the issue and will feedback to the person who raised the concern.
