Evaluation of fraud e-learning module

Crime Awareness Stands

The Trust’s Anti-Fraud Specialist Phillip Leong and the Security Team are manning display stands at Trust sites this Summer to raise awareness of fraud and security. On Monday 8 August, they will be at the main entrances of Royal Liverpool University Hospital from 9:00-11:30am and Broadgreen Hospital from 12:30 to 3:00pm; and on Tuesday 9 August, they will be at the main entrance of Aintree University Hospital from 10:00-1:00pm. All staff are encouraged, when free and available, to pop along and ask any questions they may have on any fraud and security-related issues, or even just to pick up a free pen!

 

MIAA – Trust Providers of Internal Audit and Anti-Fraud Services

MIAA (Mersey Internal Audit Agency) provide Internal Audit and Anti-Fraud Services to the Trust and are the predominant provider of these services to the NHS in the North West.

Any information given will be treated in the strictest confidence.  Remember that we all work for, use, &/or pay toward the NHS through our taxes so we should not tolerate fraud or turn a blind eye if we spot it. 

MIAA Recent Fraud Cases Article

Mersey Internal Audit Agency has published its latest article highlighting some recent successful NHS fraud cases.  The cases featured in this article include a consultant doctor who was struck off after falsely claiming nearly £30k worth of shifts when he was out of the country, following an MIAA investigation, a former GP Practice Manager who was sentenced to three years in prison for fraudulently transferring £324k from practice funds to her own bank account, and a dental manager who was sentenced to six years and nine months in prison for fraudulently transferring nearly £283k from practice funds to her own bank account.
