Payment and Receipt of DBS Disclosure

Paying for DBS Checks

All new starters to the Trust are required to pay for their own DBS check. For substantive employees this will be deducted from their salary in instalments, Bank only employees are required to make payment to the recruitment team before commencing in post.

Upon Receipt of Disclosure

The disclosure will be returned by the DBS and updated on the candidates file on Trac which is accessed by the Recruitment Team. The Disclosure certificate is also posted to the candidates/employees home address.

Should there be any information on the disclosure that has not been declared on the Model Declaration Form, the Recruiting Manager will be informed and the candidate will be required to attend a meeting to discuss the information on the disclosure and further advice will be sought from Business HR if required.

If a candidate or employee fails to declare any conviction on the Model Declaration or DBS form which is later revealed through the DBS check, this could lead to disciplinary action, including dismissal of the employee in question from the organisation or withdrawal of the offer of employment.
