Where recruiting from overseas the organisation/s will carry out the necessary police checks in line with that country’s justice system and UK requirements. Whether staff are recruited from within or outside the UK there is a legal requirement in the NHS to carry out a check against the ISA Barred lists before anyone is appointed to a childcare position.
Where the criteria are met for a disclosure, a DBS check should be obtained as a matter of good practice, which will be undertaken by the HR Recruitment Department.
