Calculating Full Time Equivalent (FTE)

On the Trac recruitment request form you will be asked to confirm the Full Time Equivalent (F.T.E) sometimes referred to as Whole Time Equivalent (W.T.E).

To calculate your vacancy F.T.E use the following formula:

• Number of Hours (divided by) 37.5 = F.T.E

• For example: 30 hours / 37.5 = 0.8 F.T.E
  112.5 hours / 37.5 = 3 F.T.E

If you know what the F.T.E is but need to know the hours, use the following formula:

• F.T.E (multiplied by) 37.5 = Number of Hours For example: 3 F.T.E x 37.5 = 112.5 hours
